Launched at the end of June, Fantasy Fund Manager is a stock market gamification module in Telegraph’s Markets Hub where players can put their skills as investors to the test and compete head-to-head over a £20 000 grand prize.

Creating a fund is simple: users allocate their £100k funds in equities from the FTSE 350 through a simple and intuitive interface. Once satisfied with the allocation in the portfolio, users name their fund and they are ready to start competing.

Creating your fund in Fantasy Fund Manager

To help users find interesting investments, monitor markets, and manage their fund, Fantasy Funds leverages tools from the Markets Hub product including a stock screener, real-time stock alert, technical indicators & analysis, and the ability to set price targets for shares they are interested in.

Investing tools available to players in Telegraph Fantasy Funds

Players compete for three months during which they can rebalance their fund to maximize their performance and protect their hard-earned gains. The game also provides a large amount of KPIs and insight into other players.

This includes being able to see:

  • Who the Top Influencer player is based on their number of followers
  • Which player has made the most money today, and who has suffered the largest loss
  • What the average performance is of all players compared to the FTSE 350 index

Additionally, players can see key information about shares and the market:

  • What share is the most popular
  • What share has earned the most money for players today (and how much)
  • Top trending share (Stochastic trend)

The Telegraph has also created a series of articles and guides with the goal of inspiring, educating, and challenging players called Trading Floor which features premium content for Telegraph subscribers.

Trading Floor – articles about investing, trading, and competing in the stock game

The stock game is just one of the many modules available in Norkon’s Pulse platform and can be implemented stand-alone or as a part of a larger implementation of tools and services.
